High Altitude Training Camp

Hello XC Families!

Here’s the information on the Training Camp. Please notice the SignUpGenius link below.

This year’s training camp will take place at the Battle Ridge Camp ground which is located North of Bridger Bowl on the right hand side of Bridger Canyon Drive. You will notice the BRC RV parked at this campground.

All runners in the Hawk XC program are welcome to attend this camp, but must RSVP before attending. Within the RSVP you must also classify which training level you have been completing this summer. This is very important as this is our guideline to your training load over the weekend. The cost of the camp is $40 payable to Run Bozeman.

The camp will consist of trail running, fun activities, goal setting, and fun friendly competitions.

Camp Schedule:

Thursday – DMR Relay (4 X 1 Mile) – Meet @ MSU Track at 2:00 PM.

                     Carpool and Depart for camp at 3:00 PM

                     Evening Easy Run on Brackett Creek Road at 7:00 PM (max 5 miles)

Friday-   — Morning trail run up Stone Creek at 7:00 AM

  • Team Goal meetings with Boys and Girls Team
  • Corn Hole Competition

Evening trail run at Olson Creek (drive to top of Olson Creek and run Bangtail Divide

Saturday — 6:00 AM hike to the Ridge to cheer on Ridge Runners. (don’t forget the cowbells)

  • After the Ridge Hike we will return to camp to pack up


Team Meetings:

On Friday we will schedule breakout sessions with the Boys and Girls teams to talk about season goals, team goals, academic goals, and personal goals.

Please bring the attached goal sheet with you to camp.

What to bring:

-Plates and water bottle (we will re-use your plates for meals as to cut down on garbage)


-Sleeping bag

-Running Shoes, Socks, and apparel (for 3 days)


-Snacks – Meals are provided, but just day snacks are good

-Sweatshirts, pants, jackets – it is hot, but be prepared for cooler nights etc.

-Windbreaker – When we hike to the ridge it can get chilly sitting on the Ridge

-Backpack or hiking pack

-Sun Screen

-Bug Spray

-Cowbell (if you have one, if not you can cheer loud)


This is Montana so be prepared for any type of weather as we all know conditions can change quickly.
