Hello XC Runners,

I hope you had a great weekend! If I am limping at practice the next few days its okay :). I logged a few too many miles at the Headwaters Relay! Sorry for the late email, but I didn’t have internet of phone access most of the weekend.

Reminder this weekend is the upcoming Sweet Pea Run. For those of you running I would suggest registering soon.

We will have BRC open early that day, and any of you are welcome to stash your personal belongings here while you run. We will also have some Gatorade and water provided too.

Please see below for this week’s practice schedule. NOTE: WE ARE MEETING AT THE MSU FIELDS ACROSS FROM THE FOOTBALL STADIUM FOR OUR TEMPO RUN ON TUESDAY @ 7:00 AM.

Remember this time of year to keep hydrated as you are out logging your summer miles. A simple electrolyte replacement drink is highly recommended.

REMINDER:

Tuesday August 2nd @ 7:00 AM – TEMPO RUN – MEET AT MSU FIELDS.

LEVEL 5:

Warm Up (2 Miles)

Tempo Run (4.5 Mile Tempo)

Striders (MSU Fields)

2 Mile Cool Down

Friday August 5th – Long Run 90 Minutes Total (On your own)

LEVEL 4:

Warm Up (2 Miles)

Tempo Run (4 Mile Tempo)

Striders (MSU Fields)

Cool Down (2 Miles)

Friday August 5th – Long Run 80 Minutes Total (On your own)

LEVEL 3:

Warm Up (1-2 Miles)

Tempo Run (3 Mile Tempo)

Striders (MSU Fields)

Cool Down (1-2 Miles)

Friday August 5th – Long Run 65 Minutes Total (On your own)

LEVEL 2:

Warm Up (1-2 Miles)

2 X 1 Mile Tempo

Striders (MSU Fields)

Cool Down (1-2 Miles)

Friday August 5th – If RUNNING SWEET PEA, EASY RUN DAY

Friday August 5th – Long Run 45 Minutes Total (On your own)

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

High Altitude Training Camp: AUGUST 11th, 12th, & 13th. We will be camping just North of Bridger Bowl at the Battle Ridge Campground area.

All runners are welcome to the camp. We will be looking at the Readiness Run results to determine which distances and runs each runner will be able to participate in.

Camp Details:

Thursday August 11th – Camp Set-Up @ 4:00 PM Battle Ridge Campground

Bring your own late lunch/snacks, but dinner will be provided

Evening Trail Run will start at 6:00 PM
Friday August 12th – Camp, Activities, Run

Saturday August 13th – Hike to Ridge to cheer on Ridge Run Runners! Final day of Camp. Camp ends at 1:00 PM.

I will have a camp itinerary put together in the next couple of days and that will passed out to all of you.

If their are any parents that wish to camp and help facilitate, you are more than welcome. I could use some help for sure. Please reach out to me via cell phone or email.

RUN WITH THE HAWKS – The annual fundraiser will take place Saturday August 27th. Registration will be open shortly, and we can start recruiting family, friends, Aunts, Uncles, etc :). More details to follow shortly.
