Daily Chronicle link to Butte Results

The Hawks cruised to an easy victory at the Butte Dual meet on Thursday. The girls team ran together at 6:15 pace for 2 miles and then as they disappeared at the bridge they broke apart to finish with a 24 second spread for the top five and a team average of 15:28. Eight Bozeman girls broke 16:00 on the rolling 2.5 mile course. Caroline Hardin was the top Hawk with her best time ever on the course at 15:09.

In the boys race Jason Holmes took a quick lead and finished with 13:05 to run the best time on this course in the last 4 years. All of the boys finished under 14:00 in cool conditions.

Good luck to the Hawks at State in Missoula next week. The meet schedule is posted at mhsa.org. The AA boys lead off at 11:00 followed by the girls at 12:00.

The middle school races endured the toughest conditions of the day. Here’s a shot of the girls with the daily storm moving off into the mountains.

  1. What a strong team, so much depth! As the chronicle only posted the top 10 finishing results, it would be great if the full results of all runners could be posted here on the website. Thanks to the Creels for keeping us up to date throughout the season!
