The Hawks cruised to an easy victory at the Butte Dual meet on Thursday. The girls team ran together at 6:15 pace for 2 miles and then as they disappeared at the bridge they broke apart to finish with a 24 second spread for the top five and a team average of 15:28. Eight Bozeman girls broke 16:00 on the rolling 2.5 mile course. Caroline Hardin was the top Hawk with her best time ever on the course at 15:09.
In the boys race Jason Holmes took a quick lead and finished with 13:05 to run the best time on this course in the last 4 years. All of the boys finished under 14:00 in cool conditions.
Good luck to the Hawks at State in Missoula next week. The meet schedule is posted at mhsa.org. The AA boys lead off at 11:00 followed by the girls at 12:00.
