7v7 a Total Success
At the 7v7 meet in the Capital City today the Bozeman squads made their presence known. The day started with the JV Girls scoring a perfect 15 points. They were led by Sarah Foster in 19:05. This amazing performance was followed by the JV boys winning 40-49 over the always strong Missoula Hellgate. The boys were led by 3rd place Theo Bennett in 16:56.
After the inspirational performance by the JVs the varsity took the center stage with the 7th runners, both Beth Jansma and Chase Equall won their races with Beth being the first Bozeman girl to break 19:00 for the day. After that it was win, win, for each pair. Fortunately Competitive Timing was there with their amazing system that allows spectators to check times after each race. Piper Meuwissen set the best time for the Bozeman girls in the 3rd race and Andie Creel broke 18:00 as well. The top 5 girls broke their amazing team average from Mountain West with an average of 18:05.5. The one race was totally exciting with some amazing performances from around the state with ever increasing winds on the course. Just like Great Falls and Mountain West a great dual was established between Bozeman’s Jason Holmes and Helena’s Aiden Reed. With 1/2 mile to go Jason surged ahead of Aiden and didn’t look back. The boys team finished with a perfect 7 points on a perfect day.
